These rivets are used to hold the Top Shield Plastic Insulator in place. They turned out to be pretty useless. The image on the Zip Corvette website shows a rivet with a split post that would push in to the holes in the Top Shield. The part Zip supplied is a solid plastic rivet, there is nothing to hold it in place. Zip suggested melting the post, but the rivets are made of Nylon, which melts at a much higher temperature than the Mylar used for the plastic insulator, so the insulator will melt long before the rivets do. Glueing them in place was the only option.
