This Exhaust Manifold to Pipe Spacer was originally used on fuel-injected cars. It fills the space created when the heat-riser is removed (fuel-injected 327s didn't use the heat-riser). When the engine was rebuilt I opted to remove the heat-riser, it's not required in the Australian climate. Deleting it cleans-up the right-hand side of the engine bay, and removes a potential obstruction from the exhaust.
